Help our schools and students by blocking the Gainful Employment (GE) rule! Even during the government shutdown, Congress continues work on the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process. The House-passed Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (LHHS) appropriations bill includes critical language that would block the enforcement and implementation of the Gainful Employment (GE) rule. Unfortunately, the Senate version does not. The recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act includes the “Do No Harm” framework, which imposes new federal institutional accountability requirements on degree programs – but not on certificate programs. If the GE rule remains in place, it will create two conflicting regulatory systems. This inconsistency will lead to confusion, increased administrative burdens, and unnecessary harm to schools and students. Now is the time to act. Members of Congress are negotiating the final version of the LHHS bill. We need your voice to ask Congress to include the House language, which would temporarily suspend the GE rule.
