AACS & L'Oreal Partner for new Student Stylist Contest


AACS and Premier Partner L'Oreal Professional Products Division have partnered to introduce a new annual award for AACS member school students: The AACS & L'Oreal Student Stylist of the Year Award was created to bring attention to the great work our AACS schools are doing to educate the next generation of stylists!


This competition is an opportunity to showcase the talent of students across the country, and push them to challenge themselves and their abilities. Join us for an informative webinar to go over the details of this contest on Wednesday, February 12 at 1:00 pm ET.

Textured Hair Education Becomes a Requirement in More States


In November 2021, Louisiana made history as the first state to mandate a new rule in its cosmetology schools: Students must know how to cut textured hair in order to receive their license. "All disciplines should be taught in cosmetology school—cutting, color, care, styling—it should be inclusive of all textures, all hair types," says Erica Roberson-Peters, VP of DEI Business Development for Professional Products at L’Oréal.

Julia Brown Retires from FAME


AACS thanks Julia Brown, VP of Client Relations for FAME, for her dedication and contributions to our sector of education. Julia spent more than 30 years in the industry serving career schools like our AACS members, and was a familiar face at AACS events throughout the years.


AACS will miss seeing Julia at our events, but we wish Julia the best in retirement. Congratulations!

Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology announces the launch of a new barbering program.


This accredited curriculum will be offered at the AACS member school located in Wayne, New Jersey, and will equip aspiring professionals with the specialized skills and knowledge needed to enter in the dynamic field of barbering.
